Spring is Here!

I never thought it possible but all of the snow is gone! What? My stepbrother, Brody doesn't seem to mind at all he will pretty much roll around on anything but I sort of miss the white stuff. For one thing it made it easier to scale over the fence when the humanoids placed the both of us in the backyard. I never had a problem getting out but Brody? Poor lug he's just too big and cumbersome to get out of an enclosed area but not me! The one they refer to as 'Howie' tore down the makeshift, enclosed area that was supposed to give both myself and Brody a place to spend outside but I found it as a challenge to dig through so that I could scale the fence that was supposedly designed to keep me in. Yeah, whatever. Lately though they have had this female over who trains dogs and I have to admit the food is pretty good and I sit already when they ask me so it's easy food. They also got this harness for me to keep me from running when I'm supposed to be walking. it does work though because it has slowed my pace down some. It remains to be seen though what good will come of this animal trainer. So long as the treats are right I guess I'll pretend to follow their program......for now. Here's a pic of Brody who likes to mug for the camera. He did it too for no treats! WTF? Bad precedence I say.

As the Snow Slowly Melts....

Oh spring is here and as much as I like the snow Brody can't seem to get enough of it. I remember when I first experienced the snow melting I didn't know what was happening. I mean it was there when I first came into this world and just assumed it would be there all year long. I used the white stuff as my personal toilet and when it disappeared I didn't where to go. After awhile I realized that when the weather got warmer the snow would just go away but would return later in the year. Brody (seen here above rolling around in the snow) will know soon enough that when the snow goes he too will wonder where do I go do my thing when I have to go? He'll find it soon enough. In the meantime I'm going to continue to enjoy what little snow there is left and run around in it for another week or so.

New Year, New Hope (& hopefully new dogfood)

Okay so it's been a loooooong time since I have posted here. First off it's tough getting the computer away from those other two claiming they have work to do. Second I am getting used to Brody's presence but he still insists on being "Top Dog" which is ridiculous since I can out run and out bite him any day. We had a good holiday together and the carbon units (Howie and Nancy) gave both Brody and myself chew toys. I guess that was in response to the slippers we chewed up. Man that lab will do just about anything I tell him to do but is too dumb at times to know when to stop chewing the human's items. Life has been good so far this year but I have noticed when the thing on the wall that shows moving pictures comes on and it's about the country I see the two of them talking about things that I don't understand. Whatever I am just glad when they turn it off and head out to the hot tub out back. Apparently I'm not allowed to go in there but Brody actually jumped in it! That was hysterical but I don't think the carbun units (Howie and Nancy) were too pleased. Something about hair and a filter?

Mutt Strut

Oh man what a great time we had last weekend. All sorts of humans were out in full force with their canine counterparts. I have never seen so many of my own species in one place without having to be in a confined area. I mean don't get me wrong I like going to this new dog park to sniff out the competition and all but to actually be taken on a full fledged walk and get treats along the way was inspiring. Apparently they have this annual event called "Mutt Strut" where dogs and their owners come out and stop by various checkpoints and win clues to a grand prize or something to that effect. All I know is that the one we call Nancy signed me up for this musical walking contest where we walked in a circle with all these other dogs and when the music stopped had to sit real quickly because if you were the last dog to sit would be eliminated. I eventually did get the boot but I wasn't the first dog to get eliminated so I didn't feel like a complete loser. I only did it because every time I sat would be given a bacon treat for doing so. There was another contest that I'm glad I didn't have to be a part of. That was the one for who was the best kisser between my species and and our handlers. Gross! Brody seemed to really get into it but then he's new to this family and is easily amused. he's not a bad brother to have because I can out-run him but at ten months old I think he is going to be bigger than me pretty soon. Still, he is slow and is too heavy to jump into the moving vehicle with no legs attached to it when we get to go on a ride. it' starting to get colder here and I look forward to having it snow again and very soon too. it's gonna be hysterical to watch Brody experience the white stuff because he has never seen it and will have a good laugh at his expense when he tries to figure out what it is.

Back to the Dog Park

Me and Brody went to the dog park and 'woof' there are usually a few cool chicks there; sheeze though, if I'm not careful the dudes there tend to get a little desperate taking turns - ya gotta watch your back at the dog park. Of course Brody is so lazy he lays down to drink the water and rolls around in the mud which our parents don't like too much.

There's usually a little making out...

And playing where we get to run wild, no leashes, no chains, we're free man! runnin' free!

I hooked up with this cool chick, Bella, she kinda was my girl on Saturday. I hope I can see her again! The weird thing is she looks a lot like Brody, if it wasn't for her collar and her other parts I be in trouble. I hope she comes back to the park for a 2nd date.

And then we got to do more playing and playing... it was fun today!

Mo Sleeping on Brody

When Brody feels like crashing, he's out like a light and if I'm there, he seems to think I'm just his dang pillow. Brody snores just papa Howie... just listen

Dog Park!

Among the many improvements added to the Tahoe lifestyle is that of a brand new dog park. I've never been at a dog park and was wondering how I would react when placed into an environment with other canines. I was a little nervous at first because all of the dogs seemed to know some of the other dogs. And there were some big dogs here too! Many of them rushed me when I came into the fenced in area designed for my species. There is another section for smaller dogs but where I was there were a few small dogs who held their own pretty well.My new 'brother' (Brody) adapted very quickly when he entered the dog park. What I really liked is that all of the dogs who were there had their caretakers with them so I felt safe knowing that if one of these guys wanted to pick a fight with me I would have an out. This place is sort of like an online chat room but instead of having to guess what the other dog looks like (no one ever sends pictures it seems or they're doctored to look like a different bitch sometimes) you can see them immediately. I hope I can come here more often but it's not like I can remember how to get here.
